Jim Gordon and Barbara Gordon did not get back together and the people who are incharge of producing the series screwed her up by making her have a mental breakdown trying to kill Leslie Thompkins and end up in jail after being saved by Jim and Harvey. Just what the hell is wrong with Bruno Heller and the rest of the staff? Don't they realize that Barbara Kean is the mother of Batgirl/Barbara Gordon? Why make stuff like this so f-ing severe? Because of this setback that they have caused, the whole series is now messed up all because of so much crap corrupting their minds into going the wrong direction.
Clearly if these people don't get her and Jim back together before the end of season two this show is a lost cause as well as the people who developed the plot of each episodes taking place after episode 6.
